14)Handling trouble makers.
1) Signature Size Limit
All Signature graphic must be within the following specification: 550px (width) and 250px (height),except if you have your IGN listed under or above the signature graphic, in which case you are allowed to have an additional 10px (each line of text shall be considered 10px height), making your Signature Size Limit to 550px (width) and 260px (height). A quote or phrase is not an IGN.
1a) Avatars must be single frame pictures, we do not allow the use of radomisers or animated images on avatars.
If you do not comply your graphic WILL be removed without notice.
2) Linking To Other Sites
No hyperlinks apart from those from The Darkest Region forum are allowed to be displayed in the signature area. Prohibited hyperlinks include blogs, other forums, and biter links. Links to your off site CS should be put in the Character sheet area, Link from your signature area to the CS board then from there to offsite character sheets not hosted on other RP sites.
We do not allow adverts to other Roleplay sites/Forums/Game sites/Games, this is not a free advertising site for your forums/links.
We do not allow business adverts, or any form of pay for services adverts, TDR is not a site to promote your business/pay for services.
The Administration has every right to remove any links they deem fit.
If you link from TDR to your CS and your CS site contains links to other sites then you will link back to TDR or your CS will be locked and all links removed without prior notice.
3) Respect
Be respectful to other players, do not abuse, berate or attack them. Two strikes, and you're out.
4) Explicit Content
We at The Darkest Region welcome creativity in its purest form, but will not tolerate extreme and explicit content for the sake of it.
5) IC/OOC Crossing/Drama
Keep it off TDR:
OOC Boards = Out of Character, meaning no character interactions = Reality
IC/RP Boards = In Character, meaning no real life personality interactions = Fantasy playtime
6) Powerplaying/God-Moding
Be realistic in the portrayal of your characters. Your character's ability to trump another character in a roleplayed physical confrontation is relative to his or her In-Game Powers on The Dark Alleyway game.
For example, a character with the Blood Rank of Creature Of The Night with 2 powers would not realistically be able to defeat a fully-powered character with a Blood Rank of Blood Deity. The only exception to this rule is if the roleplay plot has been planned beforehand and mutually agreed upon.
Forcing an action on a character without prior permission from the writer will merit a warning, and subsequent offences will result in a temporary ban.
7) Displaying In-Game Names (IGN)
Because The Darkest Region is based off of the game Dark Alleyways, every member who wishes to participate in the In Character roleplay boards are required to display their In-Game Names (IGN). The IGN is to be displayed in either under or over your signature, but never in the signature graphic itself.
If IGN is displayed in the signature it will not be considered present. Any non-display violation will merit a warning, and if a reasonable amount of time has passed without the problem being rectified, membership to the forum may be revoked, at the discretion of the Admin.
The reason that all roleplay participants are required to display their IGN is for identification and verification purposes. With the IGN, claims of In-Game strength/powers can be verified by Second Sighting the displayed IGN. Also, because it is based on the Dark Alleyways game, anyone wishing to take roleplay fights into the game itself (for a more justified outcome of any fight) will be able to find their target on the grid.
Remember, the IGN is your character's identity. Without it, your character, by all account, does not exist (unless your character is a human, then you should have "HUMAN" instead of "IGN: <NAME HERE>"). Because the IGN represents your character's identity, every character should only have 1 IGN to them.
What this means in terms of membership account is: 1 IGN for every member account.
8) Issues Regarding Powers & Blood Rank
The Darkest Region had previously (Prior to 2008's deletion.) employed the use of Power Points calculation and the listing of Blood Rank, to facilitate moderation of any disputes regarding In Character fights that may occur.
We have since eliminated the need for the listing of both Power Points and Blood Rank, as we feel that having them listed in any way shape or form other than what is made available to a writer/player on the Dark Alleyway game would not be true to the grid game.
Thus effective immediately, any dispute between characters will have to be resolved the old fashioned way: Looking up the stats of the other vampire on the grid game using Second Sight on the vampire's IGN. We would of course expect everyone to limit power playing this particular aspect, meaning that if your character does not possess Second Sight, then they would most likely not be able to glean the information on any character's powers and strength.
However, we would not be averse to witnessing an actual In-Game fight in the resolution of a dispute...
9) Spamming
Spamming is a big No-No.
Do not post or PM repeatedly to anyone, and this goes for any content, be it links (to websites or even biter links) or pics or whatever. Spamming, or repeated unsolicited posts will be considered harassment; any member found guilty of spamming will be given up to a maximum of 3 warnings before their membership is revoked (aka BANNED).
Any PM spamming of other sites will result in an immediate BAN. This is not a site for you to promote other places.
10) Siring A Character (For Eligible Sires)
Must be listed in the List Of Eligible Sires thread (link). This is to ensure that potential Sires can be looked up by players wishing to have their character sired.
Unless requested and arranged beforehand (privately or otherwise), no force-siring should occur between potential Sire and childer. Any unsolicited force-siring shall be considered power-playing, and those guilty of this will be given a warning under the rule of power-playing.
Do not give out your biter-link to those you have not sired in roleplay, nor should you post your biter-link anywhere on your signature or profile spaces or character sheets.
An eligible Sire may only participate in a maximum of 2 siring threads. This is to ensure that no potential Sire hogs the market on potential childer, even though more than 1 potential Sire can participate in a siring thread.
11) Getting Sired (For New Human Characters)
Characters who wish to be sired must state whether their siring thread is meant to be open for anyone, or exclusive to a potential Sire. Do note that there should be no more than one active siring thread per character, and if you wish to start another siring thread you will have to close the previous one.
Remember that you do not have to accept the first potential Sire who participates in your thread right off the bat; you can request to be Sired by a particular character by contacting the player of the potential Sire of your choice. Whether they accept or deny your request is their prerogative, and should not be taken personally.
12) Interaction Between Humans And Vampires (Outside of the Entering The City board)
Unlike other roleplay forums, The Darkest Region does not have limitations on where your human characters may roam in the City. There are no restrictions on interaction between your un-sired human characters and vampire characters.
HOWEVER:
Do note that while this may be the case, there is the risk of your un-sired human characters getting killed by other vampire characters.
Mingle at your own risk.
13) Proper forum/profile display names must be used.
We will not accept display names that are non-click able and cause moderation to be almost impossible.
If you make your display name invisible or use a symbol that cannot be clicked it will be corrected and you will be warned, if you continue to do this you will be banned.
14) Trouble makers.
Do not expect leniency if you are merely on TDR to cause trouble, poach members or just generally be annoying, instant bans will be used to negate such rude and unjustified behaviour.
