Dark Alleyway Role Play
Roleplaying within the Dark Alleyway is most commonly done on forums. Also some either write/talk in chat rooms and/or instant messengers, the writing of DA takes one of two forms:
1) Storyteller Roleplay
This type of roleplay is in the manner of a narrative story written by multiple authors each controlling a separate character. This form of roleplay is done using both "dialogue" and descriptive text to flesh out the world surrounding the roleplay characters. And often used to build the background and to lead into more descriptive future plots.
2) Conversational Roleplay
The idea behind this is somewhat easy and used more by those who do not enjoy long-form writing. Conversational roleplay is usually done as if both writers are merely speaking as their characters, without using any additional descriptive or narrative text. It can be seen as a conversation on a forum within a roleplay world. But most often is used on chat/messenger.
A Brief History of The City
A lot of the city's "history" is often disputed by different factions within the game. A brief IC (in character) perspective that most will agree upon:
The city of RavenBlack was built by The Vampire RavenBlack. It started as no more than a small town, but quickly grew into a dark metropolis. Vampires from all over the world flock to this dark city, hailing it as a haven for Vampire kind, a place to call home.
In time, as expected with such creatures power-mad Vampries came to the fore, and the Vampiric underworld of RavenBlack city became more divided and, war-torn. Although Vampires are at times permanently killed, it is rare. And so the wars continue with no end in sight. One faction rises as another falls and so the endless cycle continues.
